This week was packed with updates, announcements and some controversies.
Battlefield 6!
EA has unveiled the beast that is Battlefield 6, the follow up to the great Battlefield 2042. Vince Zampella is cooking up a storm, he is the master chef behind Call of Duty and Apex Legends and is leading the charge on this latest installment. The focus is on large scale warfare and with the return of Portal Mode and advanced level making tools, modders will have unprecedented freedom.
Bioshock 4’s troubled Development?
Bioshock 4 has been in development for a long time, since 2014. The game has failed its most recent internal review, with 2K executives expressing concerns about its narrative. The team are now working on revamping the story. Leadership changes have also occurred, with Kelly Gilmore being removed and Hogath DeLant moved to the publishing role. There is a good chance this means us fans will have to wait a little longer for the full release.
Switch 2 Sales
The Switch 2 is breaking records everywhere. Selling 6 million units in its first 7 weeks! Mario Kart World has sold 5.63 million units during that same time period. Meaning almost every Switch 2 user got the game! 3rd party software sales are not in the same tier and a combined 3 million non Mario Kart games sold.
Nintendo’s Price Hikes
Nintendo has increase the price of the Switch 1 by 12% making the newer model (Switch 2) more attractive for first time buyers of the switch category. Nintendo has stated that “market conditions” have caused the price hike but it has left many wondering if the same thing will happen to the Switch 2.

EVO 2024 Highlights
EVO 2024 brought some very exciting stuff, the first gameplay trailer for Marvel Token Fighting Souls and updates to Virtual Fighter 5 Revo. Playstation also showed their Flex Strike arcade stick for fighting games and allowed hand on demo.
